2 Physiotherapists you can see for Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Physio on the Gold Coast

If you’ve been searching for a pelvic floor physio, pelvic floor assessment, or an experienced women’s health physio in the Gold Coast region, you’re not alone. Pelvic health concerns are common, and an increasing number of women are looking for support. The good news is that many women’s health concerns are highly treatable with the right support.

At Hiya Health, we have two physiotherapists across Gold Coast who have completed their APA Women’s Health Level 2 certification, meaning they are qualified to support women with a range of health concerns, perform internal pelvic floor assessments and provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of pelvic health conditions.

Here’s what that means – and who you can book with.

What is Women’s Health Physiotherapy and what can you treat?

Our physiotherapists trained in women’s health can support women across all stages of life. From pregnancy and pre-natal care, post-natal return to exercise, pelvic floor conditions, menopause and much more. They can support with:

  • Pelvic floor weakness
  • Urinary leakage (stress or urge incontinence)
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Pregnancy-related pelvic pain
  • Postnatal recovery
  • Abdominal separation (DRAM)
  • Return to exercise after birth
  • Persistent lower back or hip pain linked to pelvic floor dysfunction

What Happens During a Women’s Health Physio Appointment?

Your initial session includes a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms. We’ll have a detailed conversation about your symptoms and your goals. We may then conduct some assessments. If your concerns relate to your pelvic floor, we may also conduct a pelvic floor assessment – with your consent. An internal pelvic floor examination (with consent) to assess strength, coordination, tone and endurance.

From there, your physio will create an individualised treatment plan based on your goals. Treatment with a women’s health physio may include:

  • Pelvic floor retraining (strength, relaxation or coordination)
  • Manual therapy
  • Pain management strategies
  • Pregnancy-specific exercise programming
  • Postnatal return-to-running guidance
  • Education around bladder and bowel health
  • Core and functional strength training
  • Sports-specific rehabilitation

Every plan is tailored to your body, lifestyle and goals.
